You should aim high and set far-reaching goals; even if you cannot achieve them all, you can still accomplish a lot. The problem is that Norman Vincent Peale and I may have differing views on framing such goals from the onset in a way that already mentions the possibility of failing to achieve the goals, or you might set and achieve goals that might be impossible in the first place of the ACHIEVEMENT OF GOALS.

3. What are the benefits of micro-goals?
There is no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience, quoting the great Baz Luhrmann, when it comes to this particular tip well, in my experience and that of others I’ve shared anecdotally: my own.
The last year has been challenging for me in terms of losing weight, not a literal ton. If we are going to be specific, I was setting out to lose 56 lbs to lose a lot of weight. I’ve set out to complete this particular task before. On my previous three attempts, I hadn’t even gotten halfway to the final goal when I gave up and undid all the hard work I’d put in. I want to welcome you to the world of self-destruct mode!
There was a difference in my approach this time. The goal I want to achieve is not to lose 56 pounds in one go but to lose it quickly by breaking it up into micro goals that are more realistically achievable.
· The first goal is to lose 14 pounds
· The second goal is to lose 28 pounds
· The third goal is to lose 35 pounds
· The fourth goal is to lose 42 pounds
· The 5th goal is to lose 49 pounds
· The 6th goal is to lose 56 pounds
It has been a long journey to reach goal 5, and I have recently achieved goal 4.
What is the difference this time around?
The fact that I have already achieved four of my goals makes me feel motivated. I was becoming frustrated that, even though I was 25 pounds down on my last attempt, I still seemed to be so far away from my goal on the previous shot that I made. This time, I am putting smaller goals that contribute to my more critical purpose of celebrating wins more frequently. The power of determination and commitment is a great help to me.
4. Realistic goals are what dopamine loves to reward
The chemical dopamine is often referred to as the “pleasure chemical.” The chemical is released when we are happy and feel good about ourselves. It is possible to create happiness through bad habits or good habits. It is the very nature of illegal drugs that they can be so addictive because they interfere with the body’s dopamine system, which is why they work so well.
There is a benefit to micro goals, as it turns out. They make us feel accomplished. The fact that we can achieve smaller goals en route to a bigger one gives us a significant boost of motivation on the road to achieving a bigger one, which enables us to keep motivating ourselves on the way to reaching the bigger one.

6. Goldilocks and realistic goals
Goals are, by their nature, outcomes we wish to achieve and require action on our part. Achieving goals is only possible when we follow the required course of action. Motivation is vital to sticking with anything, whether it’s a diet, a 500-word pledge, a running regime, or hitting a specific sales goal.
James Clear discusses the Goldilocks Rule in an article. Humans are only motivated by tasks at the absolute optimal level of difficulty. Clear argues that if something is too easy, then people get bored. Your motivation will only thrive if your goal is simple because, quite frankly, you feel unchallenged.
The opposite would be that if the task were too challenging (impossible, even), you would become demotivated, believing you could never succeed. You can play amateur chess against a Grandmaster. After being obliterated over and over again, you’ll give up.
According to Clear, a goal’s “Goldilocks” zone is the zone that’s challenging but still achievable. Achieving goals requires humans to remain motivated and stay motivated.
Ensure your goals are challenging but possible the next time you set them.
7. Goals Can Change Your Life
The goal of staying motivated is to set realistic micro goals. Life-changing benefits come from this.
Throughout my adult life, I’ve had goals. A few years ago, when I was in my early 20s, I set an income goal (which I broke down into micro-goals) and rewarded myself each time I reached one of them with an experience. I still need to get my end goal, so that continues.
Weight has been my health goal lately. My micro-goals are working. Taking small, realistic steps adds up. My life will be changed by being healthy and financially secure.
You might find it different. Set a big goal, break it down into smaller, more realistic ones, and achieve them.
